A 2nd To Kick Start The Season
We kicked off the season on Saturday night at Ellenbrook Speedway for the Ray Tulk Memorial. 21 cars were in attendance for round one of the Maddington Toyota, ABN Trade Mates Pro Dirt Series.
We started the night well with a win in the opening heat and a 5th which gave us a 5th place start in the feature. We started well but the cars in front were running the middle to bottom so on lap 3 I moved up the cushion, a small step of dirt which your RR tyre can lean on to help turn the car, but couldn’t get it to work, jumped it, got in the loose stuff and slipped back to 9th. We then moved back to the bottom and drove back through the field to finish 2nd. I made the pass for 2nd coming to the white flag and set my fastest lap of the race in lap 28, the car was really working well throughout and getting better as the race went on.
A great result and lots of positives heading into round two next week at the Perth Motorplex. Opening night for the Perth Motorplex is called the Power Palooza, a combination of drags, burnouts and speedway on the same night. If you ever want to check out everything that the Motorplex has to offer, this Saturday is the night.
